SARI Inspections

SARI Rack Inspections

A SARI (SEMA Approved Rack Inspector) inspection gives you a clear, independent assessment of your racking condition,
with findings prioritised using the recognised Green / Amber / Red risk system. You’ll receive a practical
report you can act on quickly — helping keep your warehouse safe and your compliance records in order.

What we deliver

  • Structured on-site inspection across agreed warehouse areas
  • Damage identification (uprights, beams, bracing, connectors, fixings and accessories)
  • Risk categorisation using Green / Amber / Red priority
  • Clear actions — repair, replace, isolate/unload, or monitor
  • Report & evidence with locations and photo notes (where taken)
  • Aftercare support — advice on repairs, protection and safe reconfiguration

Common inspection areas

Uprights & frames
Dents, buckles, twists, damaged baseplates, missing/loose anchors.

Beams & connections
Beam damage, missing safety locks, distorted connectors, incorrect seating.

Bracing & accessories
Damaged bracing, row spacers, mesh decks, pallet supports, backstops.

System set-up & use
Load notices, bay configuration, beam levels, safe clearances and protection.

Risk categories (Green / Amber / Red)

  • Green — Acceptable condition; continue to monitor during routine checks
  • Amber — Attention required; plan repair/replacement within an agreed timeframe
  • Red — Urgent action; unload/isolate affected bays and make safe immediately

Our process

  1. Scope & site info — We confirm racking types, areas, access times, and any site rules/permits.
  2. On-site inspection — Walk-through inspection, recording damage locations and severity.
  3. Report & priorities — Findings categorised Green/Amber/Red with recommended actions.
  4. Support & follow-up — We help you plan repairs, protection, and any safe reconfiguration.

Safety & good practice

Racking damage is often caused by day-to-day impacts and can worsen quickly. We can help you set up simple controls
that reduce repeat damage — clear load notices, sensible aisle widths, upright protection, and a routine in-house
visual check process between formal inspections.

Tip: If you’ve had a recent impact, reconfiguration, or new product weights, it’s worth booking an interim check.

Typical projects

  • Annual or periodic SARI inspections across one or multiple warehouse areas
  • Post-impact / incident inspections and “make safe” recommendations
  • Pre-audit condition checks and action plans
  • Reconfiguration checks after moving beam levels or changing layouts
  • Advice on rack protection, load notices and safer operating practices
